Â鶹ÉäÇø has translated an overview of the Care Certificate into British Sign Language (BSL), in videos now available on the Â鶹ÉäÇø website.

The Care Certificate was developed jointly by Â鶹ÉäÇø, Health Education England and Skills for Health and is an agreed set of 15 standards that define the knowledge, skills, and behaviours expected of specific job roles in social care. It’s standard practice for new workers in social care to complete the Care Certificate as part of their induction.

An overview of each of the Care Certificate standards along with an introduction to the Care Certificate has been translated into BSL and is now available on the Â鶹ÉäÇø website. To make the content as accessible as possible, the videos also feature subtitles and voiceover.

To assure the quality and accessibility of the videos, we worked in partnership with the Royal Association for Deaf People who filmed and edited the content with their in-house team. We’d like to thank them for helping us with this project, and for advising us on how best to create content which is accessible for all.

With the launch of our redeveloped website the videos now sit within the Care Certificate section, with easy access and the ability to download and embed directly into other websites. You can find a video for each standard within the Care Certificate workbook.

View the videos on our website.
