Seeing the patients happy, we really do take the smallest details in to account and I think that really helps a patient. Sometimes you can feel like a burden as a patient, but to know their not & supporting them. Its such a lovely feeling when you know you've helped someone.

How did I get here

I had little to no experience of working in care, when I left school I went into the beauty industry. By the time I was 18 I opened my own shop, was self-employed and built an amazing client base. When the pandemic happened and everything closed down my mum asked me to help in the care organisation she leads. I feel my skills and experience from hair and beauty have really enhanced the level of care I'm able to give.

I begun my nursing degree at 26, I feel as though beauty and hair can be closely linked to healthcare, especially in my level 3 training of beauty. I chose the holistic route which was anatomy and physiology, the training was so in depth and I refer back to my notes for unit now. I just found A&P so interesting and it fascinated me, it still does now and clinical science is without doubt my favourite part of university.
